Physical Dust Filtration Systems
What are bag filters?
Bag filters are dust separation systems.
These types of filter are the most efficient and economical systems for many applications, are very versatile and are produced in many shapes and sizes.
They are also available with a various range of filter media to suit customer requirements both in terms of space and process.
How does bag filtration work?
The principle on which filtration is based is as follows.
Dust-laden gases enter the filter, where they encounter a series of cylindrical media (bags, pockets, cartridges).
The transport of the gases is provided by a fan downstream of the system to prevent particulates spoiling the fan and to keep the system under pressure.
The air is conveyed into the filter inside of which are arranged several “bags“ that will trap dusty particles with particle size larger than that of their fabric.
The material of which the bags are made is treated to have a permeability such that the gas, but not the dust, adheres to it.
The compressed air cleaning system with economizer is fully automated.
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF BAG FILTERS?
These types of filters can achieve a collection efficiency of over 99% for very fine (submicron) particles.
They also have relatively low operating costs if regular maintenance of the system is done.
ATP Environment bag filters also offer the possibility of removing gases and heavy metals by injection of specific adsorbent solutions.
The bags can then be cleaned by an automatic system that deposits them on the bottom in collection tanks.
ATP bag filters are designed ad hoc for specific applications even very different from each other depending on the type of pollutant, operating temperature and other characteristic factors.
